| Habitat: | The plant was growing on the steep northwest, west, and southwest-facing slopes in mesic hardwood forest dominated by sugar maple, red oak, and basswood. Understory with sugar maple and ironwood most common. Associates include: Carex pensylvanica, Anemone quinquefolia, Oryzopsis asperifolia. |
