| Habitat: | Growing within feet of river. Moist rich soil along the river. Canopy consists of Thuja occidentalis , Ulmus americana, Acer negundo, and Fraxinus nigra. Subcanopy is almost entirely Alnus rugosa. Some areas are dominated by Matteuccia struthiopteris. Both Clematis virginiana and Echinocystis lobata are common. |
