| Habitat: | Large swampy area lying ca. 3/4 of a mile to the east of the ordinary high water mark of river. Floodplain. Swamp consists largely of Thuja occidentalis L., Betula alleghaniensis Britton, Alnus incana (L.) Moench subsp. rugosa (Du Roi) R.T. Clausen, Acer rubrum L. var. rubrum, Cornus stolonifera Michx., and Picea mariana (Mill.) Britton, Sterns & Poggenb. A large abandoned railroad corrider that runs through the swamp borders the eastern side of the property. Found growing on the western cut of the railroad where the plant receives very little sunlight. |
