Because of technology changes and personnel changes at UWSP and the Wisconsin State Herbarium, the database of plant species housed at this site was merged with the database from the OLD WisFlora website to create a new Flora of Wisconsin website at Currently we are encouraging all Wisplant viewers to begin using the Flora of Wisconsin website as soon as possible. Status: Introduced - locally established
Plant: erect to drooping, biennial/perennial, up to 32" tall, smooth forb; stems widely branched; taprooted
Flower: green/yellow, 6-parted, irregularly-shaped, usually 6 unequal petals, the upper petals largest and often with a projection near the base, the side petals getting progressively smaller; inflorescence a dense, conical, terminal cluster (raceme) of stalked flowers; blooms June-Sept.
Leaf:alternate, irregularly pinnately-divided
Habitat: disturbed areas, pastures, prairies
