Status: Native
Plant: erect, perennial, 1'-4' tall forb from colony-forming rhizomes
Flower: head 1"-1 1/2" wide with 9-20 bluish to purple rays; inflorescence flat to round-topped, branched clusters; blooms July-Oct.
Leaf:many, clustered, mostly toothed; large, broadly-oval basal leaves long-stalked with heart-shaped bases; upper leaves smaller and becoming stalkless
Habitat: shade; woods, forests
