Flower: white, 5-parted, 1/8" wide; inflorescence a spike-like scape; blooms late spring to early summer
Fruit:capsule
Leaf:leathery, evergreen, shiny, basal, 5 inches wide, rounded with a heart-shaped base; turns reddish in the fall
Habitat: partial to full shade
