Status: Native
Plant: floating or erect, perennial aquatic, 4"-12" tall with long stems
Flower: female flower green to white, 3-parted; inflorescence round heads, the female heads all from the leaf axils
Fruit:squat nutlet with a short beak, fruit drawing, in bur-like heads
Leaf:thin, flat, very long when floating, un-keeled
Habitat: sun; wet; shallows; in muddy soil
