Status: Native
Plant: erect, perennial, 1'-5' tall forb mostly smooth except for inflorescence; round stems
Flower: head with 1-8 yellow rays; inflorescence a 7" short-branched, spike-like cluster much longer than wide; blooms July-Sept.
Fruit:mostly smooth, dry seed on fluffy pappus
Leaf:long and narrow, 7-15 times as long as wide and tapering to stalk, bases clasping, upper side smooth, upper leaves obviously smaller
Habitat: wet; bogs, meadows, forests
