Status: Native
Plant: perennial, submersed aquatic; stems slender, much branched, compact; slight, spreading rhizomes
Flower: green-brown, small, various length stalks; inflorescence compact head to cylindrical cluster
Fruit:dry, flat disk-like, top toothed, sides smooth
Leaf:alternate, entire, with prominent midvein; submersed linear, curvy; floating elliptical; stipules fused to leaf blade more than half their length
Habitat: shallow water; in sediment soil
