Because of technology changes and personnel changes at UWSP and the Wisconsin State Herbarium, the database of plant species housed at this site was merged with the database from the OLD WisFlora website to create a new Flora of Wisconsin website at Currently we are encouraging all Wisplant viewers to begin using the Flora of Wisconsin website as soon as possible. Wisplants will remain operational through July 13th. After that date, all traffic to Wisplants will be redirected to the Flora of Wisconsin website.

Status: Threatened
Plant: erect, perennial, 20"-40" tall forb with a stout, single stem; taprooted
Flower: yellow, 5-parted; inflorescence a 1"-2 1/2" wide, compound, domed umbel with 10-20 small umbellets of many, short-stalked flowers; blooms May-June
Fruit:dry, oblong with a flattened back, splitting into 2 seeds- fruit:fruit drawing seed:seed drawing
Leaf:lower leaves long-stalked, oval, pinnately-divided into many 1"-3" long, deeply-lobed, narrow leaflets usually with a few sharp teeth
Habitat: dry to moderate moisture; prairies, plains
