Because of technology changes and personnel changes at UWSP and the Wisconsin State Herbarium, the database of plant species housed at this site was merged with the database from the OLD WisFlora website to create a new Flora of Wisconsin website at Currently we are encouraging all Wisplant viewers to begin using the Flora of Wisconsin website as soon as possible. Plant: erect, perennial, 8"-16" tall forb
Flower: white, 5-parted, 3/4"-1" wide, petals 1/2 to 2 times longer than the triangular sepals; solitary; blooms July-Aug.
Leaf:basal leaves with oval-rounded blade and rounded to heart-shaped base; leaf drawing the clasping stem leaf as large as the basal leaves
Habitat: wet; shores, meadows; in limy soil
