Status: Native - potentially invasive
Plant: erect, perennial, 16"-40" tall forb with stinging hairs
Flower: green to white, 1/8" wide; 5-parted female flowers in loose, long clusters (cymes) from the upper leaf axils and 4 -parted male flowers in smaller clusters (cymes) from the lower leaf axils; blooms July-Aug.
Fruit:oblique, dry seed
Leaf:widely-oval, alternate, coarsely-toothed, hairy, long-stalked
Habitat: moderate moisture; woods, forests; in rich soil
