Euphorbia: for Euphorbus, corpulent Greek physician of Juba II, King of Mauretania. Juba, educated in Rome, and married to daughter of Antony and Cleopatra. From eu, "good" and phorbe, "pasture or fodder," thus giving euphorbos the meaning "well fed."
marginata: alluding to the margins of the leaves

Status: Introduced - escaped
Plant: erect, perennial, 12"-32" tall forb
Flower: 5-parted, no petals or sepals; 3 upper leaves petal-like, gray-green and edged with white; inflorescence a dense cluster
Fruit:3-lobed capsule
Leaf:stem leaves alternate, stalkless; those below the inflorescence, whorled or opposite
Habitat: full sun; escaped from gardens
