Status: Native
Plant: erect, perennial, semi-aquatic, 1"-8" tall; roots unbranched with closely spaced segments
Flower: white, 3-parted; inflorescence a 1/4" wide, dense, button-like head on a slightly twisted stalk with 5-7 vertical ridges; blooms June-Sept.
Leaf:in a basal rosette, green, translucent, long, tapering, over-winter in favorable conditions
Habitat: bogs, shores, shallows, soft water to 7' deep; in wet, sandy, mucky soil
