Status: Native
Plant: floating/matting annual, 2.5" tall, aquatic forb; with shallow root tuffs
Flower: 2-4-parted, tiny, from the leaf axils
Fruit:thin-walled capsule, usually 2 parted; seeds with separate rows of roundish pits, attached at the base, vertical
Leaf:1/10 - 4/10" oblong-oval with no stem, usually with a slight notch at the tip
Habitat: mudflat, in water less than 7' deep; in sandy soil
