Flower: white to lilac, 5-parted, 1/3" long, funnel-shaped, mostly stalkless, tube slender, lobes short; inflorescence terminal, leafy cluster; blooms May-Aug.
Leaf:many, linear, mostly stalkless, alternate, not divided or toothed
Habitat: dry, often disturbed areas
