Status: Native
Plant: erect, perennial, 1'-4' tall forb; stems evenly covered with fine, curly hairs mostly toward the top; long, creeping rhizomes
Flower: head 1/3"-3/8" wide with 9-14 white rays; inflorescence of many heads along spreading branches; blooms Aug.-Oct.
Leaf:lance-like, lower surface evenly hairy, basal leaves stalked, upper leaves mostly stalkless leaf drawing
Habitat: moist; meadows, marshes, shores
Notes: very similar to A. lateriflorus but with long, creeping rhizomes and hairy lower leaf surfaces
