Typhaceae: Cat-tail

Stems hollow to 12' tall. Brownish, tiny flowers (3-parted) on a densely crowded, terminal, sausage-like spike with the male flowers at the top above the female flowers. Parallel-veined blade-like leaves that are D-shaped in cross section. Wet places.
