Sparganiaceae: Bur-Reed

Stems hollow. Greenish, tiny flowers (3-parted) in round ball-like clusters with the male flowers above the female flowers. A hard-beaked bur in fruit. Zigzagging stems, parallel-veined leaves grass-like and triangular in cross section. Wet places.
