Orobanchaceae: Broom-rape

Root parasitic plant usually pale colored, low, fleshy, and mostly with scale-like leaves. Flowers either 5 united petals forming a tube or 2 lipped held in a spike or singly. Stamens 2 pairs, 1 style, 1 stigma. Flower asymmetric.
