Mimosaceae: Mimosa

Leaves alternate, with stipules, pinnately twice-compound. Flowers with one simple pistil which becomes the legume pod fruit. Flowers tiny and regular in a head with 5 petals (often fused) and 5 to many stamens much longer than petals.
