Geraniaceae: Geranium

Flowers with 5 pink to lavender petals and 5 sepals. The seed pod forms from the long erect beak-like pistil the derivation of the common name of "cranesbill". Fruit curls back when splits open to release the seeds. Leaves with deep clefts basal or opposite with stipules.
