Asclepiadaceae: Milkweed

Plants with milky latex juice. Leaves usually opposite, entire, and simple. Flowers in terminal umbel-like clusters with 5 swept-back petals with a 5-parted cup that has 5 small horns curving onto the center part made up of united stamens and stigma. Fruits a long pod which splits to reveal many seeds with a fluffy floss used to disperse them by the wind.
