Status: Native
Plant: erect, perennial, 8"-16" tall, usually hairy, bushy forb; taprooted
Flower: head 1" - 1 1/2" wide, usually 10-35 yellow rays, disks yellow and up to more than 1/2" wide; inflorescence with several heads together; blooms July-Oct.
Fruit:dry seed on fluffy pappus
Leaf:many, mostly alike, alternate, mostly toothless, usually over 2" wide
Habitat: sun; dry; in sandy soil
