Plant: erect, perennial, 2' - 6 1/2' tall forb with spreading hairs
Flower: head 1 3/4"- 3 1/2" wide, 10-15 yellow rays, disks yellow; inflorescence with one to a few heads on thick stalks; blooms July-Oct.
Leaf:mostly all opposite along the stem, bases rounded to the short stalks; hairy below, rough aboveleaf drawing
Habitat: dry; woods, meadows
