Status: Native
Plant: erect, perennial, 1'-4' tall, mostly hairless forb; stems very leafy; rhizomes forming patches
Flower: head with 15-25 tiny, yellow rays; inflorescence with many 1 1/4" rounded clusters of mostly stalkless head in a large, flat-topped cluster; blooms July-Oct.
Fruit:dry seed on fluffy pappus
Leaf:alternate, very long and narrow, about 1/4" wide, with 3 veins and glandular dots
Habitat: moist to dry; meadows, prairies, roadsides, shores; in sandy soil
