Status: Native
Plant: erect, perennial, 1'-5' tall forb
Flower: head 3/8"-1 1/8" wide with 6-15 blue to purple rays; inflorescence tall, leafy clusters of many heads
Fruit:dry seed
Leaf:thick, stiff, veins in an obvious network, mostly entire
Habitat: moist; low areas
Notes: very similar to A. lanceolatus but with underside of leaves with obvious veins
