Hazard/Poison and Eradication Information

HAZARDOUS:  Some part of these plants MAY be known to be mildly to severely toxic to either animals and/or humans. They might cause symptoms either externally or internally. The list of hazardous plants is NOT complete and should be used as a guideline only. It is based on information obtained from the web sites listed in a Google search on "poison plants" (opens new window). Use these for more detailed information.

To search for other Wisconsin poisonous species- County and Status Search. Choose Hazard/Poison - "Yes", and any other criteria.

ERADICATION:  These plants are known to be highly invasive, out competing native species and leading to a monoculture. They can destroy the habitat necessary for a healthy ecosystem. If they are found, the location should be noted and all individuals should be destroyed. The site should then be monitored in the future for new infestations.

To search for other Wisconsin Invasive species- County and Status Search. Choose Status - "Ecologically Invasive", and any other criteria.
