Dr. Virginia Freire

Born in Guatemala and received her Ph.D. from the University of Southern Illinois.   She has taught at the UW-Stevens Point since 1999.  Her research interests include bryophytes, especially the liverworts of Central America and the bryophytes of Wisconsin, as well as ethnobotany and plant morphology
